The Old PRO COM Services
Pro Com Services’ site was created more than six years ago. The average lifespan of a website is just shy of 3 years, and as you can see from the former homepage (right), the site was showing its age.
In addition to an outdated design overall, the homepage used Adobe Flash Player, a tool that had its zenith 10 years ago but now has gone the way of the cassette tape. Flash and similar technologies have two strikes against them: they aren’t mobile-friendly, and they don’t meet accessibility standards. So while a design reboot was important for general aesthetics and mobile usability, it also was imperative to meet accessibility regulations.
Website Reboot
As a result of outdated technology, Pro Com’s website didn’t function properly and appeared more dated than it was. Pro Com owner Connie Matrisch agreed that the site needed to be modernized and mobile-friendly while retaining the functionality of key sections, showcasing its services, and educating its clients. “The LRS team did an outstanding job assisting and guiding us through the redesign of our website.,” Matrisch says. “The site is fresh, modern, mobile-friendly, and meets accessibility requirements. Pro Com's Face Lift
LRS Antilles Content Manager’s easy to use, web-based interface tackled all of Pro Com’s needs. A clean, modern design made more effective use of Pro Com’s brand identity colors. So, when clients go to the new and improved homepage, it still feels familiar. The uncluttered homepage simplifies the mission and vision of Pro Com. Prominent testimonials give the nearly 100-year-old company even more authority.
The FAQ section took advantage of LRS Antilles’ List Builder module, making this an easy-to-use and easy-to-update piece of content.
By far, Pro Com’s most popular page is its File Exchange system, which allows Matrisch and her staff to share documents with their clients safely and securely. Custom built by LRS Web Solutions, the File Exchange system was further customized to make the process of uploading documents through the file transfer protocol (FTP) easier.

Launched in early 2019, the site has some impressive stats just a few weeks after going live:
- The average time people spend on the site is already up 121%.
- Clicks from search are up 20%.
- Search appearances are up 37%.
- The number of pages crawled is up 92%.
- Crawl errors are down 43%.
- In the Springfield, Illinois area, Pro Com also shows up on Google’s local pack for the search query “debt collection.”
- For accessibility, Pro Com exhibits no errors from the web accessibility evaluation tool.
